ACHAIA CLAUSS is located on the hill of the same name and was founded in 1861 by Bavarian Gustav Clauss, who came to Patras in 1854 to work for a German currant export company. During one of his excursions, he discovered the area and was captivated by its enchanting landscape and vineyards. He initially purchased a small vineyard of just 60 acres, which eventually grew into the Castle-Winery that still stands proudly today.
